I’ve been in a real sour mood as of late. Won’t bore you with the details…but as I headed towards the fridge to warm up some Trader Joe samosas, I glanced upon this:
Advertisement postcard from 1998/99 for Sauza tequila.
Another reminder regarding the realities of life. The last word in disillusionment.
So when someone tells you that everything is an illusion, believe it.
Then again, don’t always believe everything you read, hear, see, breathe or eat…
Aha. Humor of advertising. But i strongly agree with your advice. Don’t be fooled by what your senses tell you.
Thanks.
Glad you noticed the sarcastic humor of the advertisement. Many times, humor is bred from the known bullcrap we’re ‘served’ with. No pun intended.
We can’t be fooled by what our senses tell us, if its being manipulated, or if we’re led to what we ‘want’ to believe. We can’t be overpowered by our desires; it doesn’t matter what the longing is for. The only senses we can possibly go by is instinct. Our gut instincts usually never fails us.
I couldn’t disagree more. Alas, we live in a world where fabrication is a custom and Advertising plays a big part in that. This then, questions responsible advertising.
Thanks for the reply. I’m hoping to discuss relevant topics with you soon.
